It all started one Tuesday evening. I was _____¹ my favourite programme on TV. Suddenly I got aware of the fact that I had a _____². I wanted some painkillers. I asked my mum if we had any. Mum thought that I shouldn´t sit so _____³ to the TV, that I should sit back in one of the armchairs.  But when I moved to the armchair at the back of the room, I couldn´t see properly from there. Mum said that I probably _____⁴ glasses and that I would go to the optician´s.

I wasn´t happy when I heard this. I really didn´t want  to wear glasses. I didn´t want to look like a _____⁵ among all my friends and classmates.  But Mum insisted that she would call to the optician´s next day and make an _____⁶ for me.

Next week I went to the optician´s. It was an old man, very wise and very kind. He _____⁷ my eyes. I had to read letters on a _____⁸ which were of a different _____⁹. Some were quite big and I had no problems to read them. But some letters were very _____¹⁰ and I couldn´t see them properly. The doctor confirmed that I needed glasses. He wrote a special prescription. With my mum we went to a special _____¹¹ right on our way from the medical centre. And she ordered a pair of glasses for me. In three days she collected the glasses and said that I must _____¹² them.

I was really afraid of what the people in our class might say. But nobody _____¹³ at me and nobody told any stupid jokes about my new glasses. On the contrary: my friend James said that I _____¹⁴ really cool in them. And I was happy to see _____¹⁵ at last.
